Overview:
This is a broad and varied role where the Director of Risk &
compliance will work alongside the Managing Partner and the risk committee and
will develop a robust compliance, governance and risk management strategy and
framework. This will involve working closely with the SRA and other legislative
bodies. This is an exciting opportunity to work at a senior level in a very
successful business and work as part of the senior leadership team to drive
change.
Responsibilities:
- Providing advice and guidance to include AML, data protection, other regulatory requirements
- Be responsible for maintenance of the firm's risk register and conducting firm wide risk assessments
- Maintenance of complaints and PI claims
- Driving firm-wide change and being responsible for creating a robust "culture of compliance."
- Conducting regular reviews of the firms internal policies and procedures
- Assisting with the role out of new frameworks to include ISO accreditations
- Any other duties as reasonably required
The person:
- Previous experience of working in senior risk and compliance role within a professional services organisation to include a law firm, financial services, banking or an accountancy practice
- Previous experience and knowledge of AML and financial crime
- Some knowledge of the SRA handbook would be very desirable or if not ability to learn this quickly
- Ability to set and manage key stakeholders expectations
- Experience in analysing and drafting regulatory plans, policies, procedures and controls
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels within a business or even external agents.
