Companies House has updated their strike-off policy information. On 16th April Companies House announced that they will continue to register an application to strike off a company and publish a notice in the Belfast Gazette as normal. However they are temporarily suspending any further action to strike off and dissolve companies at this time (usually a company is struck off and dissolved 2 months after the notice in the Belfast Gazette).

This measure has been taken to protect creditors and any other interested parties who may wish to object to the company being struck off. Companies House will review the impact of coronavirus from 1st May 2020 and will publish a guidance update.

Where companies have failed to file their accounts or confirmation statement, Companies House will continue to send reminders for non-compliance to them, but they will not publish the Gazette notice for strike off as they wish to help businesses to keep their record up to date.
