In 2016 the Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunal Service consulted on proposals to increase Court fees.As a result a three year phased increase to Court fees was agreed and incorporated into legislation.

In April 2017 a 10% increase was applied to Court fees with a second increase of 7.5% coming into effect on 1st April 2018.A further increase of 5% is due to be applied to all Court fees, including enforcement fees from 1st April 2019.This will result in a slight increase in fees for issuing proceedings and Interlocutory Applications in the new financial year (2019/2020).

Here is a list of the current Court fees for High Court and County Court cases to include the increase in fees effective from 1st April 2019.

You may also be aware that the Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunal Service recently completed a public consultation exploring further increases to Court fees together with the introduction of a number of new fees (£195 for Masters Reviews and £261 for Judges Review Hearings). The consultation closed on 22nd February 2019 and a formal response is expected within the next two months. This may result on additional fee increases at that stage.
