The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners UK legal directories are widely considered the go-to sources for evaluating law firms' capabilities. The 2025 legal directories have praised Carson McDowell for its outstanding performance in a wide range of practice areas, its talented individuals, and its exceptional customer service, reconfirming Carson McDowell's reputation as the leader in commercial law.

Published today, Chambers UK has ranked Carson McDowell for its expertise in 26 practice areas, more than all other local firms. The firm, recognised as Northern Ireland's largest independent law firm, maintained its 'Band 1' rankings in 19 different categories and also received a new UK-wide ranking for its expertise in Health and Safety law.

Carson McDowell, who often states that their strength lies in the incredible people who dedicate their time, effort, and expertise to making their business successful, also saw an unprecedented 67 lawyers receive individual recognition, with 17 people seeing new or improved rankings compared to the previous year. This included 25 band 1 rankings, a definitive mark of excellence for established lawyers across the legal industry.

The firm's next-gen talent was prominently featured, with listings for 16 'Associates to Watch' and 4 new listings for 'Up and Coming'.

The recent results gave Carson McDowell double legal directory success. Earlier in October, the Legal 500 Editorial team awarded Carson McDowell for exceptional client satisfaction. This accolade further distinguishes the firm from competitors who continue leading the Northern Irish legal market with 13 rankings, 11 of which are top tier 1.
