Rachel McAllister - Associate
Rachel is an associate solicitor in the corporate and energy teams at Carson McDowell.
She graduated with a degree in Law from Queen’s University, Belfast in 2009 and attended the Institute of Professional Legal Studies later that year. Rachel was admitted onto the Roll of Solicitors in 2011.
While working at another leading Belfast firm, Rachel advised in relation to a wide range of corporate and commercial matters and also gained experience in debt recovery, bankruptcy, and insolvency. She joined the team at Carson McDowell in March 2014.
Rachel has extensive experience in the corporate legal sector, particularly in relation to company disposals, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder arrangements, joint ventures, corporate reorganisations and management buy-outs. She also regularly advises companies on financing, venture capital investments, corporate governance and general compliance issues.
Rachel also has considerable experience in energy and renewables. Having completed a long-term secondment with a leading utility company, Rachel has an in depth understanding of the gas industry and the key issues to be considered when advising a regulated business. She has advised in relation to several wind, AD and biomethane projects, energy supply agreements and other regulatory matters.
Rachel has been chairperson of the Company and Commercial Lawyers Group in Northern Ireland since 2016 and is also a member of the Generation Innovation Steering team.
