Carson McDowell welcomes seven trainee solicitors to training programme, bringing total cohort to 18

Carson McDowell has welcomed seven trainee solicitors to its training programme, bringing the total number of trainees across the first and second years to eighteen.

Five of the trainees, Erin Barnes, James Maguire, Lauren Jones, Matthew Halliday and Seamus Gilsenan, are new to Carson McDowell, while Sophie Crumlin and Tess Byrne are progressing to the programme having previously worked as paralegals with the firm.

Carson McDowell is one of Northern Ireland’s largest recruiters of trainee solicitors and has a strong record of retaining trainees on qualification. The firm’s two-year programme combines practical experience across a range of legal disciplines with structured learning, mentoring and professional development.

The programme’s long-term impact is reflected in the careers of Orlagh O’Neill, Managing Partner, Declan Magee, Senior Partner and Mary-Kim Doherty, Training Partner, all of whom began their careers at Carson McDowell through the solicitor trainee programme.
