After completing her undergraduate law degree in Queen’s University, Catriona continued her studies with a Masters degree and post-graduate research. After several years in academia, Catriona entered the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in Belfast to train as a Solicitor.
During her training contract, Catriona gained experience in a wide variety of areas, including banking and corporate law and licensing. Upon undertaking a litigation seat during training, Catriona quickly sought to specialise in this area and continued to hone her skills through the remainder of her training and post-qualification.
Though now working primarily in defence litigation, having experience working on both plaintiff and defence cases has been invaluable in giving Catriona her in-depth understanding of this area of law. This allows her to provide the best possible service and achieve the best possible outcomes for her clients. She has recently joined the Defence Insurance Litigation team at Carson McDowell and is working on a variety of Employer’s Liability and Public Liability cases, including day-to-day work with industrial disease and hearing loss claims, as well as personal injury. Catriona is experienced in dealing with all aspects of claims, including complex disputes regarding liability, indemnity, quantum, and fraud prevention.
