Gary is the Head of the Planning & Environmental team within Carson McDowell which he founded over 25 years ago.

Gary is one of the few solicitors in Northern Ireland to specialise exclusively in the areas of planning, environmental, and energy law. His experience includes:

The co-ordination of major planning applications

Representation at over 50 planning / enforcement appeals and major public inquiries

Instigating / defending judicial reviews of planning and environmental decisions

In addition, Gary is a Legal Associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute, a member of the Environmental and Planning Law Association of Northern Ireland, and a member of the UK Environmental Law Association.

Gary is recognised as a "Leading Individual" and in the "Hall of Fame" by The Legal 500 and is ranked Band 1 in the Chambers UK guide.
