Hugh McGrattan

Hugh McGrattan graduated from Queens University Belfast and qualified as a solicitor in 1983. Hugh joined Carson McDowell in 2015 as Partner and Head of the firm’s Professional Indemnity team.

Before that he was Partner in another leading Belfast firm for over 20 years.

Hugh specialises in professional indemnity and defendants’ litigation, acting on behalf of insurers and a range of professionals. He has developed considerable expertise defending solicitors, accountants, architects, engineers, surveyors, estate agents and insurance brokers in professional negligence actions.

Hugh McGrattan continues to be highly respected for his longstanding experience in professional negligence matters. He is ranked Band 1 in the Chambers UK guide 2021 and The Legal 500 note Hugh as a key name for professional indemnity work.
