Laura is a Partner in the Commercial team at Carson McDowell. She is qualified to practice in Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and England and Wales.
Laura specialises in all aspects of information law, including privacy, confidentiality, data protection, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Freedom of Information (FOIA) and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR). Laura advises clients across the private and public sector on a wide range of data protection issues including data protection audits; data subject rights requests; dealing with data breaches; liaising with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the compliant use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), international data transfers, marketing, and cookie issues.
Laura graduated from Queen's University, Belfast in 2008 with a
First-Class Honours degree in Common and Civil Law with French. She
subsequently graduated from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies with
Distinction in 2009 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2010. Laura also holds a
master’s degree in Human Rights Law.
