Orla Kelly

Orla is a Senior Associate in the Planning and Environmental team at Carson McDowell.

Orla attained a degree in Law (LLB honours) from Queens University, Belfast in 2012 and subsequently obtained her professional qualifications from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in Belfast in 2014. Orla qualified as a solicitor in September 2014 with another commercial law firm in Belfast before joining Carson McDowell in August 2019.

Orla specialises exclusively in the Planning and Environmental team at Carson McDowell and her experience includes:

• Assisting in the instigation and defence of judicial reviews of planning and environmental decisions.

• Providing general planning and environmental law advices.

• Assisting in providing due diligence support for the acquisition and disposal of a number of wind farm sites in Northern Ireland.

• Prosecution and defence of breaches of planning and building control.

Orla is recognised as an "Associate to Watch" by Chambers UK.

Orla is a member of the Environmental and Planning Law Association of Northern Ireland and the UK Environmental Law Association.
