Rachael attained a degree in Law with Business Studies (LLB honours) from Magee College, Ulster University. Rachael joined Carson McDowell in 2007 as an apprentice, and gained her professional qualifications from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, Queen’s University, Belfast.
Rachael qualified as a Solicitor in 2009, and subsequently joined the Healthcare team, part of the wider Litigation & Dispute Resolution team. Rachael became an Associate Solicitor in 2015 and a Senior Associate in 2019.
Rachael specialises in Professional Discipline/Regulatory Healthcare. Rachael assists and represents Doctors, Dentists and Pharmacists in General Medical Council, General Dental Council, and Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland investigations and hearings.
Rachael also assists and represents Doctors at Inquests, and in relation to Trust investigations under MHPS, and Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman (‘NIPSO’) investigations.
Rachael assisted a number of Doctors involved in the Inquiry into Hyponatraemia Related Deaths.
Rachael also presents seminars to junior doctors and medical students.
Rachael is a member of the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers (‘ARDL’).
