Sam is a Senior Associate in the Healthcare team at Carson McDowell, based in Dublin. Dual-qualified in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, Sam brings a cross-jurisdictional perspective to his practice.

Sam graduated with a LLB (Hons) from the University of Dundee, Scotland, in 2015 and was admitted as a solicitor in Northern Ireland in 2018, working in another commercial law firm where he specialised in defence insurance litigation, primarily handling high-value, catastrophic personal injury claims on behalf of major UK and EU insurance companies.
Sam joined Carson McDowell’s Healthcare team in 2020 and was admitted as a Solicitor in the Republic of Ireland that year. Since then, Sam has exclusively acted on behalf of medical defence organisations and insurers, representing the interests of medical practitioners in defending high-value, complex clinical negligence claims. Sam has particularly built specialist experience in the defence of alleged birth injury and delayed cancer diagnosis claims.
