Gerard is Joint Head of Corporate at Carson McDowell LLP. Gerard joined the firm in 2001, qualifying as a Solicitor in 2003 and has been a Partner in the Corporate department since 2012.
Gerard specialises in corporate finance including M&A, corporate sales and acquisitions, business and asset transactions, corporate restructures, reorganisations and demergers, as well as corporate governance and advisory work. He also has extensive experience in advising on joint ventures, shareholders’ agreements and collaborative working arrangements.
Gerard also has experience of advising on PFI, PPP and other large-scale projects, with a particular focus on private consortia and major construction organisations in sectors including schools and education projects, government administration initiatives and roads infrastructure programmes.
Gerard has over two decades of experience of advising local, national and international clients on complex transactional matters and is recognised as a "leading individual" by The Legal 500.
Gerard attained a first class honours degree in Law from Queen’s University, Belfast 2001.
